ENID 1941-1963
It's taken me years to get round to this.
First, I was content to go through the Mystery books set in Peterswood and the school books set at Malory Towers. My intention was to bring out the link between Blyton's biography and her fiction.
Each book in either series has an essay attached to it. (See that in the menu on the left?) I suppose I should have carried on and done the same thing for the Famous Five, the 'R' Mysteries and the Adventure series. But I wasn't quite interested enough in them. And it is hard work if it's to be done properly.
But then I realised that one of the things that is of great interest is the amount of novel writing that Enid was doing when she was in her blistering prime. So I've added a chapter that pulls this together in, I hope, as clear a way as possible. In some ways it might help to read this first, before going into the detail of each Mystery book. So I'm putting the link to that essay right here.
